Healthwatch Essex have come up with a brilliant idea - a trauma card:

The card allows you to make health professionals aware that you're experiencing the effects of trauma, with the following text on the front of the card:
"TRAUMA AWARENESS CARD
I am a survivor of significant trauma. I find certain situations - including this one - extremely difficult. PLEASE SEE REVERSE OF CARD FOR SPECIFIC WAYS TO HELP ME"
But it doesn't stop there - the health professionals can then scan a QR code on the card, which takes them to the website and provides them with info on how to more effectively support those living with the effects of trauma.
