I'm having a rough time with tooth #31, which is undergoing endodontic treatment.
On the first visit, the dentist cleaned out most of the nerve tissue, but there was bleeding in the canal, so she medicated the tooth and put a temporary on, and we scheduled a followup visit three weeks later.
The second appointment, it seems the tooth is still bleeding, and my dentist can't find the source. (She said, "something must be transmitting it from the outside to the inside...") Again she medicated the tooth and sent me home to "marinate" for a couple more weeks. She doesn't think the endo will be successful but wants to try one more time.
I trust my dentist a lot and she's done really great work on many other teeth. Also, if the endo is unsuccessful she assured me I won't be charged for it, so she has no financial incentive to keep working on it. I asked if an endodontist might be called for, but she says the roots are all straight and she can see everything. She just can't find where the bleeding is coming from.
Can any of the professionals here lend a comment? Is there any value in involving an endodontist? Or is this just something that happens to certain teeth?
