Found it mildly relaxing, maybe a bit boring. Got a fun little gift bag at the end of it and there were fun magazines to read. Something changed about 7 years ago when a filling failed on a tooth that had a teeny tiny cavity. Grew painful then they tried again. I don't know if they were doing a root canal or what but it was taking very long and it felt unusually uncomfortable, I felt like I wanted to leave but also wasn't sure how. The rest is a bit traumatic and will skip it, but it covers months. I was eventually taken care of by a different dentist, who treated me against my will while awake. I was never angry at him, but since then I've not been able to continue. I've tried to sit in a dentists chair for exposure therapy for years and nothing has helped.

I'm actually just looking to vent more than seek advice. I'm aware of sedation dentistry etc.. I am still very depressed about the whole situation.
