Waiting for root filling

Hi. Im on the waiting list for a root filling due to " shadow " on xray. The puss draines from my gum on its own and so far i keep it under control with various mouthwash etc. Could antibiotics work? Iv asked my dentist but he wont answer until im seem in March. Thank you so much.

Not much point in the antibiotics, as long as the infection is draining, which it sounds like it is, the antibiotics would be better kept for an emergency.

Thank you Gordon. I was due to go next month but they changed the appointment. I was just concerned with it draining but to be honest the shadow as been there for at least 30 years yes 30. I keep saying its a cyst that bursts on its own but the dentist insists on a root filling.

Yes, the dead nerve tissue is harbouring bacteria which are causing the "cyst". Get rid of them and you should get rid of the "cyst"
