I was scheduled to have 2 crowns done on New Years eve, but when I got there I asked them to take a xray of 14 because I felt pressure in it when I bent down and a few times i had sharp pains in it. Well the tooth was cracked so he did a crown on it. We'll about 3 days later I started to feel the pressure feeling again(no pain) and he checked the xray again and he didnt see anything and gave me a percription for Lodine. I took it for 5 days(I still have 5days worth left) but I didnt take it today to see what would happen and late this afternoon, I am starting to feel a weird pressure, thorbbing(not pain at all ) feeling again. I was just wondering what it could be. I have also been feeling like a buring feeling in my cheekbone. I am getting my perm. crown on 2/4. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Anti-inflammatory drugs can be quite helpful for some dental pain, which is mostly inflammatory in nature, the original poster doesn't mention any other drugs prescribed but some US dentists use it in conjunction with other drugs like Ibuprofen.

The tooth sounds like it's failing, the crack has probably spread through the pulp chamber and the nerve is dying. Your dentist will need to know about this before starting the permanent crown. Sometimes we try to use crowns to hold a cracked tooth together, sometimes it works, in this case it sounds like it hasn't I"m afraid.
