Is this an aphthous ulcer?

I've never had aphthous before and I'm unsure if I even have it. I have no idea what this is, if anyone has any idea how I could get rid of it quickly that would be greatly appreciated. This hurts like hell, I can barely smile & eat.

Here is a picture of it.

apthous ulcers tend to be round, this one is elongated and may be due to trauma,
it may have been caused by an abrasion - eating something sharp that cut your gum, or perhaps by sucking a tablet or something unusual.
Most ulcers will heal within about 10days but they should be monitored, so you should see your dentist asap so that they've had a good look and can review it to ensure good healing.
 
Have you held a Tylenol or ibuprofen there by any chance?
