White bump on the side of my tongue in the back.. Please help im so scared..

I have a white bump on the back side of my tongue that has been there on and off for the last month at times it seems to go away some then comes back. It does not hurt. I am scared to death I have cancer. I am 32 never smoked or never drank. It is causing me great anxiety. I saw the oral surgeon to have some broken teeth removed and he didn't mention it and I was so anxious there I forgot to mention it. I have surgery in 2 weeks. Please help im worrying myself to death. I attached a picture.

* also the surgeon did a panoramic xray of my mouth and when I mentioned cancer her told me I don't have cancer but don't know if this would show up or not...

I totally understand your fears. Last month I thought I had an infection but it turned out to be just a canker sore!
My suggestion is to call the oral surgeon's office and describe the white dot in detail and see what his office staff/assistant says. They definitely know their stuff and they know when to refer to the surgeon.

Also, I'm been so anxious I forget to mention things too.
