Hello, I may need to have my upper right first molar extracted. I am told I’ll need an implant there to keep bone and other teeth healthy, but I cannot afford an implant as I am a single mother. I am thinking of just leaving it alone. Has anyone else had their first molar removed and lived with it with no complications or other dental problems resulting? I am so scared and I have been so depressed about the long-term affects of not having a tooth there. I am only 28 and still have a lot of time to live with this issue. I was told I could get bone loss in that area that could eventually affect other teeth, my jaw could start having problems and that I could have a “sunken cheek” over time without bone or a tooth in that area and maybe even facial symmetry issues in the long run. If you could give me your stories and maybe pictures, if you have them, I’d be so appreciative! Thanks.
