Hello, I have a phobia of dental work due to some bad experiences as a child. Because of this/covid I had put off getting my wisdom teeth pulled until recently (June 29th).

It has been 9 days since the extraction of both on the right side of my jaw, the top one was simple but the lower one was horizontal and more complicated.

I am worried as I see and read so much about people having a much faster healing process than I am. It is day 9 and I am only now starting to feel more okay around the lower extraction site. On day 5 I had a long episode of bleeding lasting for about 9 hours. I went to the dentist the morning after but they said nothing was to worry about and that I should just bite on some gauze if this were to happen again.

I have a strange numbness in the gums of the tooth next to the extraction site that does not seem to be improving. This is terrifying me.

Has anyone had anything similiar before or is this an emergency?

Any help is greatly appreciated

A long complex extraction is going to take some time to heal up, try not to worry about it. The numbness is normal.
