Wisdom teeth removal

So if a wisdom tooth is considered complex like some is still under the gum why does it have to be taken out in hospital? And if it does what anaesthetic is used
 
Because a hospital is where most of the oral surgeons work :-)

Local anaesthetic with or without sedation or general anaesthetic can be used, it depends on what the patient/surgeon decide will be best. If a GA is used then it has to be done in hospital in the UK.

Oh ok so local can still be used in hospitals right because I think I would prefer that as it’s only one tooth
