i have a wisdom tooth and it's cutting the gum. The dentist said he doesn't want to remove it as it's not causing problems or hurting me.
My question to him was when I touch it with my finger,my finger has a really foul smell. He said to keep it clean but i brush 3 times a day, floss and use corsodyl mouthwash but it still smells. I have an appointment with a hygienist in August so hopefully something can be done until then. In the mean time, guys help me out. Any tip on how to keep it fresh?

Hello there and welcome

I can only comment from my limited experience of having my wisdom teeth come through ( I no longer have any Wisdom teeth).

My understanding from talking to a dentist friend at the time is that as the teeth are coming through and haven't quite grown out, there is a "flap" of gum around each tooth and food particles can get trapped underneath which is likely to be what's causing the smell. I actually had a slight bacterial infection when mine were coming through and my dentist friend advised me to bathe the sites with warm salt water several times a day - it certainly helped to get rid of the infection so might help in your case.

Hope this is of help

Try rinsing with salt water after you eat. If food is getting trapped after eating, that rinse should help flush out the area and keep it clean.
