Hi.
It started off with an 8th of my bottom wisdom tooth coming off. I was in iceland at the time and when we got back..BOOM!!!!! lock down!!!
I eventually got an appointment but nothing they could do becuase of lockdown and drill spray.
Got refered to dental hospital but still waiting six 8 months later due to back log.
I have antibiotics on standby just incase and got tender at times but not had to use them.
It is crumbling. perhaps less that the front quarter of the tooth left?
The skin is growing over the rest of the tooth that has broken off.
If the whole lot goes will the skin continue to grow over and if it does will I still need to have it removed via haveing gum cut open to get at it??

Thankyou

Hi there,

not a dentist, but gum growing over teeth that are broken can happen. Your dentist will still be able to remove it. When it comes to the necessity of having it removed, it sounds like the tooth is compromised and needs treatment so I'm afraid the gum growing over won't solve the problem. But again, the gum shouldn't be that much of a problem for the removal.

All the best wishes
