what causes a quick zapping feeling in your gums? I've had this happen on and off since i had a tooth extraction and it's been 3 months now, is this normal? I am going to a dentist in 2 days due to a dark spot on a tooth plus gum soreness so will ask them as well but now it's worrying me what it is- inflammation?, nerve pain or something else? it only happens for a short time, usually after i've brushed/flossed, never had this before. I've never had it before even with wisdom teeth extractions.

Can't even guess from your description, sorry. Wait and see what the dentist says.

okay, thanks, i will do that.

saw the dentist, said it may be my nerves but all looks good, even the tooth i was worried about, what i thought was a new cavity, is staining on a "bubble" on a filling (i didn't know i had a filling on that tooth as i have a bunch of fillings) that needs to be redone but said i can wait as my coverage is done for this year. My dentist also said one needed to be redone but i didn't ask which tooth as i had a lot going wrong at those dental appts. in the spring.:( It is safe for me to wait until next April to get this filling done if it's just a bubble on it? i'd rather wait until spring but if i notice any pain or change to my tooth, i will go sooner. It was worth to go for another opinion which i wanted after my dentist missed a crack on a tooth even though i had to pay $75 but that included a new xray on this tooth to make sure it was okay- just a shadow was shown.

Yeah, definitely fine to leave it.

okay, thank you, now i have to decide which dentist to go to next year.
