Hello, in need of advice is this I'm scaring myself that I have nerve damage . Couple weeks ago I started getting pain in 4 upper teeth and face and a strange sensation of numbness in those teeth but not numb because I could feel pain. It was like my teeth felt like they didn't belong in my jaw if that makes sense. I had one of the teeth removed as it was root canaled tooth that broke, apparently there was sign of old infection too. It has just made It all worse. It's more constant. Dentist doesn't see a problem and doctor prescribed medication for nerve pain.

Atypical facial pain is a tough thing to diagnose, usually after everything else has been excluded :-(

I really can't offer you any advice here without a full going over of your medical and dental history, (which I would imagine you don't want made public anyway) and a pretty thorough examination, sorry.

@Gordon thanks for your response. I suppose I am more worried about nerve damage as these symptoms started before I had the tooth out and it broke and the x-ray showed some infection.

Nerve damage symptom is generally numbness, not pain, if that helps any?

@Gordon thanks for the reply. It's just been so frustrating dealing with it and to get answers.
