Help! Spots on upper central incisors

On my upper front teeth, I had a filling done a few months ago. It might not be a job well done, since that very dentist missed filling a hole on my other tooth even when I told him about it. The question is, from the images, there is some slight grey spots or discoloration beside my filling (which appears to be slightly brown due to my diet). If you zoom in, it will be a lot more noticeable. Can anyone please tell me if this is just a discoloration or might this be due to my filling has shrunk over the past few months? I believe that my filling is made of porcelain, since the dentist did not use any light to cure it or something.

In fairness to the dentist it is very difficult to do a good job when the surrounding gums are swollen and infected. Your teeth need cleaning and then the uneven edge can be polished which should be a simple solution.

So if it is not porcelain, what would you suggest that it might be? The dentist did not told me about what material he used so I have no idea of what it might be. As for the gums, I believe it is due to my flossing, since I just started flossing recently, so the gums might not be used to it. As for the cleaning, I had it just about 3 months back, and the stains appears to be due to the amount of tea i take as mentioned by my dentist. Seeing as what you said, I don't have to worry about it other than the aesthetics problem, is it?

Also, the main reason why I think the dentist did a poor job overall was because I had to go back to him thrice, since he missed a tooth that needs to be filled, and after a few days the filling fell off, and yet he told me that it doesn't matter.

The material is probably resin or ionomer, I'm sure they could tell you if you ask.
Your gums look very angry and inflammed, it's good that you've started flossing, that will certainly help but you need some help with your brushing technique to get those gums healthy.
An extra benefit of an improved technique will be that you get fewer tea stains!

In USA we call it compsite. Widely used and is very technique sensitive. Very difficult to use near inflammed gums becasue any bleeding causes grey/black stain. I just did about 10 of these last week on a 16 yo old with gingivitis and it took 2x as long due to her tissue health.

I'm pretty sure it isn't composite/resin since it requires the usage of curing light, right? If that's the case then it shouldn't be of that material since I recall that the dentist didn't use any light and I'm pretty sure that the dentist just took some white colored substance and fit it into the hole in my teeth, so from what I read about dental composites, I doubt he used that. It could be ionomer, I didn't ask since I lost that dentist contact number.

Edit: So just to confirm, what I have currently, is just an aesthetic (discoloration) issue, is it? Or could it be a problem of filling leakage or shrinkage, whatever it may be?
