How long will I be without teeth?

Hi, I am still trying to pluck up courage to contact a dentist, but have not managed it yet  . My 4 bottom front teeth are very seriously loose and causing me a great deal of bother. I know I have serious gum disease and thats why the teeth are so loose.My question is, if and when I do get these teeth extracted (along with all of the others I have that need removal), how long will it be before I have dentures to replace the teeth? I would need top and bottom dentures and am definately not wanting to have to live for months without teeth. As a woman, that is especially upsetting. I wish I could wave a magic wand.  Thanks

Immediately? Wow. How do they do that?? I mean, what about dry socket and all that? Wouldn't it affect the clot?

I've been wondering about this questions, as I'm likely facing more extractions in the future, and don't want mega-gaps.

I've had 4 wisdoms pulled Monday, and two molars before that. I couldn't imagine plopping dentures down on the extraction site.

Slap the dentures right over the extraction site, it's easy

The socket is protected by the denture, stats show that there's less chance of dry socket and healing is better.

Hi, I am just wondering how an impression can be taken if some of the teeth to be extracted are extremely loose? Also, will it be painful having dentures straight in after the extractions or will it be better as the extraction sites are covered over with the dentures? Thanks.

Sometimes the teeth need to be "splinted" with some soft wax if they're that loose, but usually the impressions aren't a problem. The lab then cuts the teeth off the plaster models and sands the plaster to the desired final shape, when the dentures are fitted the gum kind of moulds itself to the denture base.

Pain should be the same whether there's a denture fitted or not, usually almost none. Your mouth is a remarkable structure, the rapidity with which it repairs itself is amazing.

hi i had seriously loose bottom teeth and was exactly like you i thought they would come out with the impression but they didn't when the time came to have them removed they almost fell out on their own! and i had my immediates in straight a way they are much better than the old wobbly ones not without problems i'll be honest with you but at least they look better than before and i knwe i had no choice really

oh and very little pain or bleeding in my case but it takes time to get used to it
