Hi,
I'm asking this on behalf of a relative. They need 4 front teeth removed and have always had a fear of the dentist. This is compounded by ongoing anxiety which is being treated seperately.
They had asked to be referred to the dental hospital to have sedation for the extractions but were told this is not possible as the dental hospital only provide this service for children and they would need to go private. The private dentist keep trying to "upsell" and get them to have more complex treatment when what they really want is to mimimise the number of dental visits.
I wanted to double check that there is no way of getting sedation for extractions on the NHS in Scotland and if this is the case suggestions / recommendations in Ayrshire / Glasgow where this could be done.
