Niggling pain 11-12 days post wisdom extraction

I posted previously about this wisdom root extraction but am not sure whether I should have continued posting on that thread or whether it's okay to make a new thread so please feel free to amend this if so!

Last night I had a yogurt not realising it had a fruity seed in it, it got stuck around the left side of my mouth but I couldn't figure out where. I ended up brushing that night and dislodged it but also had some slight bleeding after brushing near my wisdom tooth site (I was brushing the tooth and gum next to it). It wasn't a lot but I panicked for a bit. An hour or so later I've started to have intermittent sharp stabbing pain that comes and goes from the left side of my mouth. It's still on and off with the pain this morning too. I don't know if it's the wisdom tooth extraction site or somewhere nearby but it's very annoying and I'm scared it could be dry socket?? Is this possible this late after extraction? Could I have caused an infection through disturbing the area??

I will obviously go to my dentist tomorrow if I can if this continues but I was wondering what this could likely be or if I should rush to an emergency dentist.

Not a chance and no.

You could have irritated the soft granulation tissue in the area though, it should settle down in a day or so.

Thank you! I did a salt rinse to see if it helps, and I'll keep an eye on things and hope it will settle down. I guess my overly anxious mind jumped to conclusions. Could it also be nerve irritation? I guess it's because it was hard to determine if it was the gum around that area or if it was the site itself but hopefully the pain will reduce more over time. I guess if it was something to worry about the pain would be a bit more constant.

It's definitely settled, I still feel sensitivity in the area and occasional soreness too and I'm still avoiding eating there but I think it's unlikely to be an infection or anything as I'm sure it would have worsened rather than improved haha. Thanks for enquiring and for your previous advice as always

Hopefully it'll continue to improve.

As a general rule, post-extraction infection is incredibly rare, I've really only seen it twice in my career and in both cases it had started within 48hrs.
