Hello, nervous patient here looking for some advice?
On Thursday (4 days ago) I had my second upper right molar extracted, it was a little complicated as it had a root canal and a crown, but the dentist suspected a cracked root as it had been causing pain for some time. I have also suspected the first upper right molar (e.g. the one now left by itself) has some issues.
I have two issues with the extraction, it is still bleeding a little - not gushing but I can see the blood in my saliva and have a horrible taste when I wake up. Also, the remaining upper molar is sore when I bite down or press the jaw with my finger.
I don't think I have a dry socket, as there is no radiating pain or heat, and the dentist gave me antibiotics to take (it's a 4 day weekend here due to public holidays so he gave me them just in case) but I am worried about the ongoing bleeding and pain, even worrying that the leftover tooth is also going to have to be extracted if this carries on. It also has a root canal and a crown because of the different issues I've had over the years.
Should I contact my dentist or give it a few more days to see if the bleeding and pain stops?
