A week from implants, terrified

So back in September I had 10 implants (just the part under the gum line) placed in the front of my mouth. Next Wednesday I’m getting the teeth attached. I’m beyond excited to finally be done with this whole process BUT last time I was under anesthesia and for this I’m gonna be awake. I’m terrified if it’s gonna hurt...how it’s gonna feel attaching the teeth...my dentist is amazing and I was wondering maybe if it would be reasonable to ask to listen to music during the process?

I would think would earbuds they should be happy to let you listen to music, I know the office I go to says in their paperwork you can bring it but just needs earbuds. Really wishing you the best in this. For me getting the teeth attached was not too bad of a process. and didn't hurt at all.. it was exciting to get the final crown !

Now that it’s down to 48 hours I’ve started having panic attacks....I think a lot of this has to do with October of 2017 when I got crowns for the first time I went into respiratory arrest due to anaphylactic shock (didn’t know till then I was allergic to nickel) and almost died. This is the first time I’m getting anything resembling crowns since then.

I'm getting my crown installed on my implant on March 12th, so can't tell much. I know I was told it should be the easier appointment.

Did you ever get tested for allergies for those metals?

Good luck to you! Yes I tested allergic to Nickel and Cobalt.

So the procedure went well. It took about an hour and half (and a ton of novaine shots...) I actually only got the top abutments it will be a about 2 more months till the crowns are in place. Glad this part is over though. Slow and steady wins the race!
