Can a root regrow in a root canaled tooth?

Hello! I recently got a root canal and I am wondering - is it possible at all for the tooth to regenerate? Could the root ever grow back? What if the root canal was left empty - what would happen? Hmm - I would love it if some type of tech was available that would help teeth regenerate. Thanks.

I am not a dentist, but a tooth still has its roots after RCT - otherwise it would pop out of your head! RCT cleans out and fills up the spaces in the roots, but they remain there to anchor the tooth. Alas, teeth can't regenerate, so once you've had any treatment, the tooth is in a state of restoration and will remain that way.

I'm not a dentist either but as mentioned above, you still have the roots in your tooth, the root canal just empties the canals (the little spaces inside the roots of the tooth), and fills them with a rubbery substance.

The nerve that has been emptied cannot regrow sadly, but the restored tooth should last you for ages if you look after it well
