Can dentists see which other dentists/practices you've been too?

I'm an NHS patient who's recently switched practices. Can my old dentist see on their system where I've went too? Can my new dentist see a list of past dentists I've been with? Thanks

I don’t know for sure, but would be surprised if this was the case - after all doctors have to protect the personal data of patients and who is a patient belongs to such data. You should be the only person who can reveal who treated you..

In my country, we have national electronic health record system that allows all practitioners to access the different healthcare records from different practitioners for a particular patient. This lets the authorised healthcare provider have a holistic picture of the patient's healthcare history. I'm not sure if the UK has a similar system. But for my country, yes, the patient history and where/who treated the patient can be accessed by the new doctor or dentist who is treating the patient.

In the UK, this would be a breach of the data protection act. Your old dentist won’t know where you’ve gone, and your new dentist won’t know who you saw previously (unless you choose to tell them of course!)
