Can the syringe they give you cause dry socket? 1 week post op

I 6.5 days post op and I went for my followup today. The Dr. gave me a syringe to clean out my sockets with. I didn't think to ask him, but can using that cause dry socket. Seems kinda dangerous to me!

No it will keep the area clean, loosen and eject any food that may have got in there. It will help.
