>:(Hi all

I am new to this site. Have been a dental phobic for many years and then a few years ago i found an amazing dentist whom i began to build trust with and now they are leaving.

we were meant to attend an appt today but due to hubby having an interview he cancelled and never bothered finding out why he/she is leaving. The clinic just said 'to rearrange' an appt in 6-8 weeks time.

I knew this time would come but obviously i'm very upset.

Hubby suggests i find out where he/she is going but doesn't that sound a bit sad? e.g. they may be going off on a career break etc.

don't know what to do right now

feel im back at square one

Hi there [smiley=welcome.gif],
I think your hubby's idea of finding out where they're going is a good one! There are many people on this forum who, in some cases, travel a considerable distance to see "their" dentist. There's absolutely nothing "sad" about this :).
If it should turn out that they're going on a career break, or moving too far away to continue seeing them, then yes, you will have to find someone new you like and trust. But like your husband, I'd suggest doing the most obvious first and checking if you can continue to see them elsewhere!

hi newmummy23
sorry if this is too late.
i was terrified for ten yrs and after being dragged by hubby i eventually saw MY dentist. after some time i bravelyy sat in the waiting room on my own, just then i saw a note on the wall saying c my dentist was leaving. well i can tell u i didnt know if to sit there and cry or run out. thankfully i made the right choice. i sat in the chair that day close to tears and right at the end blurted out so ill never see you again? he said of course you will ill still see you. on my last app i had a lovely pic taken of me and c and then he gave me a card of his new practice. i had alot of problems adjusting to the new practice but 3 yrs later im still there! alot has happened in the last yr but through everything i still see c my superstar. its not sad so you go find out whats happening, good luck:grouphug:
