Im pretty sure I have quite severe peritonitis with bone loss too

most teeth are loose several have fallen out

really bad receding gums. You can now see the tops of my yellow teeth under my veneets

i am
in constant generalised pain in gums and teeth in a lot of pain
my tongue is also sore and it's difficult to eat properly

im having difficulty getting an appointment with a dentist as haven't been to one in ten years
do now have an appointment end of September but not sure I can stand this pain for that long ?

I am am absolutely terrified of having extractions
would my doctor be able to refer me to the hospital for general anaesthetic?

also if I could find a private dentist with a quicker appointment
would they be able to refer me to NHS hospital for extractions

I just want them all out as they are all loose and look awful

Hi I don't know where about you are in the UK but you could see if there is a dental hospital near you or somewhere you could travel to. They sometimes take people on for treatments. Any dentist can refer you to a hospital the same as a doctor can.

You could try ringing the dentist you have the appointment with to ask if they have any cancellations, you may get in before your appointment. Keep the appointment that you have and if you manage to get in anywhere before you can cancel it then.

Try not to get too stressed about having teeth extracted it is usually quite quick and painless. They don't just yank them out they make sure you are really numb get the tooth ready and gently wiggle it a couple of times then just lift the tooth out. You won't even know they have removed it or them until they tell you it is done.

I was terrified of having a tooth out and couldn't believe how quick it was. I expected a lot of tugging and pulling but none of that happened. I felt really ill before my app, not sleeping, and when I did I had nightmares. I couldn't eat and felt sick all the time. In seconds the offending tooth was out and I was kicking myself for all the torture I had put myself through.

I did feel like a great weight had been lifted and it was really good not to have the worry and fear that had crippled me for months.

All the best to you, the dentist won't mind if you keep ringing to ask if they have a cancellation. If you do get referred to a hospital for extractions you will need someone with you when you go.
