i had a dental clean and airflow 2 weeks ago. it was my first dental appointment in 5 years, i have autism and going to the dentist is really difficult but i plucked up the courage to go. she did the clean and for the next couple of days my gums were sore and i thought that was normal. but for the last two weeks i have had constant burning painful gums and a cough, i havent been able to eat anything hard. now im scared to go back to the dentist. would the cleaning of caused this, i wish i hadnt been now. could you please advise me on what to do.

Seems very unlikely to be related to the cleaning. Some sensitivity to cold and sweet afterwards is normal, but not what you're describing.
Burning gums can be linked to a few different things, for example have you started any new medications recently?
Unfortunately the best person to answer your questions is your dentist, since they will know your history and your medical history better than anyone here. Give them a ring.
