I have NEVER had a dental phobia before. I have even had a root canal with no problems before. Since then, I have been diagnosed with a large hiatal hernia with my stomach in my esophagus and likely will have surgery this summer (2025).
I the meantime, I need another root canal.
I went in the other day and had the pain injection. Then, when the assistant told me phlegm in my throat (sinus) could not be suctioned during the procedure just as the blue well was put up, I went into utter terror of choking and had to leave.
Moreover, because I can no longer sleep totally flat, I need to be to be elevated at least 30 degrees so I don't have phlegm or pain in my chest.
The blue mask brings back my ordeal during COVID. I am one of those people who get sick from masks. I had several respiratory infections from wearing them that were not COVID. (tested). I had to give up a job due to them.
Any advice?
I need t clear my throat about every 5 minutes even with allergy medication. Likely it's laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR).
Advice how to get through this?

Get a temp fix done just now and then get the definitive treatment after you've had your hernia surgery? Is that an option?
