Hello

I am unfortunately having to have six fillings done on Friday and I'm absolutely terrified, they are being done under sedation but I'm really scared at the concept of being under sedation for several hours, would it be quicker with your patient under sedation or would it take the same amount of time regardless? I've got it in my head I'm going to be on the chair for at least 6 hours as it will take an hour per filling, so if any dentist can give me more of a realistic time in my head, and maybe provide me with a bit of reassurance that would be amazing.

They are at the back of my mouth and the cavitys are only just starting to form if that helps at all, they weren't able to be picked up until I had an xray done at the hospital. Thanks again in advance for any answers

It's usually a bit quicker if the patient is sedated. You're looking at less than an hour altogether, but for you, almost no time will pass at all.

@Gordon Thank you so much for the reassurance Gordon, I appreciate it

I had a two hour appointment for an extraction, two caps and three fillings. It felt like 10 minutes. The only thing was, as I woke up, my jaw ached from holding it open for so long. I was able to tell the dentist so as she finished up she put something in my mouth to rest my jaws. Sedation is wonderful.
