I shouldn't have put this off for 10 years, it was easy and you can do it too.
Got my lower right and upper right wisdom teeth removed this morning.
I've been putting this off for ten years and I have severe anxiety in general, but I got through it. Piece of cake and you can do it too.
Last night I was able to go to sleep without worrying because I had my computer unplugged for the whole day so that I wasn't wired up when I went to bed. I also avoided caffeine for two days and I limited my protein intake for the day before to limit gas and nervous stomach churning.
My brother drove me to the dentist this morning and I have to admit, my heart was pounding like a drum but I knew that wouldn't kill me and that my adrenaline was limited, thanks to reading "Hope and Help for your Nerves" by Dr. Claire Weekes. It’s an old book but I think this is what gave me courage.
The nurse stuck an IV in my arm (hardly felt it) and started giving me Fentanyl, which is a pain reliever. I have to say that I didn't like this stuff as it made me a bit dizzy, but it wasn't horrible.
The dentist came in and they put me out with propofol. I couldn’t even count to 2.
I woke up a short while later with both teeth out. One was totally horizontal, 90% impacted and with a hooked root around my main facial nerve and also half decayed. A mess! But the dentist had that out within just a couple minutes. There was no pain afterwards.
They wheeled me out in a wheelchair (I was too dizzy to get in it or walk) and my brother drove me home. The worst part was that I had some kind of reaction to the pain medication that gave me vomiting and dizziness for a few hours, but that’s worn off so I decided to write this detailed account of what happened.
Don’t put off getting your wizzies out – it’s a piece of cake. But one word of advice.. stock up on ice cream and jello beforehand.
