Hi
I was on here a few years ago can’t remember my username but I did end up getting my treatment done at the time. Anyway now I’m back to square one with an added complication. I have anorexia last year it was bad I haven’t seen a dentist since before Covid as ours closed and there just aren’t any nhs dentists. So my teeth are now bad the front ones look perfect no problems except my gums aren’t good. The back ones are a nightmare when I had my treatment before I had 5 teeth out so I have gaps one side I only have 2 top back teeth both those have holes in. Other side is the bad side I have a wisdom tooth that’s trying to come through it’s pushed the tooth next to it out of place that has a hole in at the gum line now the gum is growing over the hole and keeps bleeding. The rest of my back teeth have holes and one is really sensitive. As I mentioned I’m in anorexia recovery but because I’m scared of my teeth hurting I’m not eating they aren’t hurting constantly yet but I get this weird sensitive type pain sometimes when I eat if my tongue touches the tooth with the gum on it and I’m scared so I avoid eating and drinking as much as possible. When I do eat I’m eating on the side that only has 2 top teeth
I’m terrified all over again and now there are no nhs dentists anyway which means I have no chance of sorting this out.
Sorry it’s long just needed to actually say it to someone today haven’t told anyone I’m struggling.
Hi to Gordon and zzz dentist if your still here I might not remember my previous username but I remember your kindness and encouragement

Hi Starlight25,

I’m in ED recovery too so understand the added complication of this. Are you in the UK?

If so, you could call 111 and ask for them to find you a dentist - they can tell you all in area which would take NHS, or they can make an emergency appt for you if your in pain - although I understand how overwhelming that might feel.

You could also ask your GP
If they could refer you to specialist dental service? It’s a community service that caters for people with additional needs etc. you might meet criteria - in my old area in UK I could be seen by this team but I think it varies.

Some mental health services also have a dentist attached but I don’t know how you access

Sending you hugs, I know how lonely it can feel xx
