oral biopsy

I am an anxious person.
I noticed a slightly brownish area on the palate near to where my wisdom tooth was, and I went to the dentist to get it checked.
The dentist sent me to an oral surgeon, telling me he was 99% sure it was nothing, but he always prefer to check.
I went to the oral surgeon, he told me it could be a chronic apthae (???) or melanin something.
I wasn't convinced and he told me we could take some sample and look at microscope.
I said ok.

I didn't understand it was a full blown biopsy.

So I have now stitches in a very uncomfortable area, because is on the back of the mouth, internal part of the area where wisdom teeth are (btw I think this started after a widsdom tooth has been removed).

To the pathologist he wrote dx aphtae or melanin something, he told me he doesn't think is anything bad.

I have blood coming from where the wisdom tooth was and I don't understand why.
I have a sore throat now, two hours after the procedure.

The stitches are bad, it looks like he took it all.
He did not give any instructions.

Will I treat as a wisdom tooth removal?
Do dry socket exist?
Thankfully I quit vaping.

I will be back next Friday to remove the stitches and see if there are the results.

I am beyond stressed and scared and I have been crying for two days.

I should go on an intercontinental flight in 10 days, next Sunday, for a week of work abroad that was important.
Now I am afraid I shouldnt, it's a 12 hours flight.
I am scared of the results, I am scared how to heal this biopsy place, I am sore.

A "biopsy" is just a bit of tissue taken for proper diagnosis in a lab. It does NOT mean that there is a cancer present, in fact in the vast majority of cases, cancer isn't even considered. Which sounds like your case.
It's nothing like a wisdom tooth extraction, you won't get a dry socket.

Stitches are really annoying back there, I sympathise. Try some Difflam rinse or spray if you can get it, it's not sold in the US I don't think. If you're in the US try some Corsodyl mouthwash instead. If you can't get that then a rinse made of a cup of warm water with a teaspoon of table salt in it will help.

Well done quitting vaping, it'll be worth it in the long run. There is no reason your flight needs to be cancelled.

I am actually in Germany, I will check for the spray!

It's so painful at the moment to swallow even just saliva ugh, I tried to eat a yogurt and now the stitches are a bit white (they are black).
I tried swishing water around but it's not going away.
It's 4 hours after the surgery and I hopefully stopped bleeding now, I don't want to touch the stitches.

The back of the tongue rubs against that part every time I swallow..

And yes, you can't image how relieved I am that I am not vaping!!!
All my previous teeth extraction or surgeries had this drama around that I couldn't quit smoking/vaping and I was afraid not to heal.

Iam still afraid, lol, but one problem less

Sadly I am still in pain
I had no idea it would be so bad.
The area is a bit red and still a bit swollen.
But for where it is every time I swallow I hurt it and hurt the stitches.
I am very anxious and anxious of the results and all.
I wrote to the Dr maybe they can check me out and see if it's healing well and why I am in pain.

The oral surgeon told me to go to get checked.
He said he is very happy with the healing that it looks fine.
He said it just needs time, it's too early to remove the stitches and that the problem is the position, being in the far back.
It's really painful at every swallow or talking as the tongue touches.
In the evening even if I avoided talking the whole day it stings really.

I can see it's still swollen and somehow red.
But he was happy, so I suppose it is expected.
Only I didn't expect this.
Now I have to survive until Friday, next appointment..
This is being hard..

Today is the same.
I am comparing pictures and I think the wound is closing, it's changing, there was white what went away.
There is redness, where there were holes and then white there are small bumps.
But it's painful
Every swallow is painful.
Day 5.
And each website I read it's says only a couple of days.
How do I trust my surgeon, he saw me yesterday. Why I can't trust him and just let it go? Like suffer but wait.
He said it needs time. I don't know how long.
And from the anxiety I am making myself sick I can't eat much, I feel warm.
Hate this argh
