Hi I am on schedule to get an overdenture with bar attachment. I did want to for all on 4 but was told by my dentist this is a better option for me due to less bone at the back and where my nerves run, I had a ct cone scan.
My hesitation is I didn't want something I could remove since I was able to afford the all on 4 I hoped for an unremoveable appliance unless in the dentist chair of course! Im confused I am of the impression an overdenture looks the same as a normal denture as in aesthetically? I have no idea! my dentist said he could cut it back but will I still end up with a bulky denrure? Will the bar be attached to the denture at the dentist ..Looking for any info possible to help me with my choice. Im scheduled for implant surgery 4 top 4 bottom in 2 weeks! I was also told I cant wear my current denture for atleast 2 days as it will put pressure on newly drilled implants and stitches....majour fear walking out wirh no teeth! not sure i can two days is along time for me i already suffer high anxiety... Any information much appreciated xxx
