Hello all,
I am in major need of a root canal i have a tooth that is causing me a lot of pain. However I have been choosing to stay in pain rather than seek out treatment due to paralyzing anxiety. I left the consultation today in tears. The doctor had zero sympathy. When he was explaining the procedure I could already feel myself starting to panic and when I tried to explain my fears I couldn't speak and started to cry. I felt like I couldn't breathe. He said no other questions? I didnt answer and he left me in there for the billing person to come speak to me. I was full on crying. I cant bring myself to schedule this procedure because of how terrified I am. He made me feel dramatic and overreacting but I am literally paralyzed by this anxiety

to DFC. I am so sorry you had this experience.. How awful... First off, you were amazingly courageous to step into that office despite your fears and try to get this done! You should give yourself Alot of credit! Taking the step in, explaining your fears, trying all you can do. I'm sorry you were met with an un empathetic dentist . There are so many dentists out there that will truly care and take their time and not make you feel this way. You deserve to be treated with kindness. Are you in dire pain right now? I hope not too bad. I'm actually so glad you didn't schedule with them , are you going to an endodontist? or dentist? Do have any any other ideas of who to go through? I would check reviews to see who is good with anxiety, and then ask if you can come in for a meet and greet if you have time and mention your anxiety, that gives you a little more feel for the office. Just an idea, it has really helped me. We are glad you are here and you are not alone in this!!
