Hi,

As those of you who have read my other posts know I had 2 crowns done on my lower molars yesterday. Well things were going great with absolutly no pain at all until today.

Today i decided I would test the temp crowns for pain by trying to chew on that side of my mouth with them. This was a bit freaky for me for 2 reasons. The first being that the temp crowns were there and the second being that I have not chewed anything on that side of my mouth for about 4 years now. Before the crowns I has a broken tooth/partial filling loss in one of those teeth and thus did not want food getting stuck in it.

Well to make a long story short i tried eating a piece of whole wheat bread on that side and it was slightly uncomfortable. It was not extremely painful or anything like that ( I was able to finish the whole piece of bread without it getting any worse) and the pain was only when i chewed the bread.

My hope is that this slight discomfort is just because the tooth was just worked on in the last 24 hrs (as well as the fact it has not been used in 4 yrs) and is still just touchy and I am just being paranoid (something i do alot when it comes to dental stuff). My biggest hope is that it is not an indication of needing a root canal.

Again I have no pain now, have had no pain at all wile taking no pain meds and the dentist did tell me it may be sore for a day or two. Would this be what he probably meant? Ok I have rambled enough. Hopefully it is all just me being paranoid like usual.

Any input that anyone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and have a great night.

I think it's OK, assuming the pain didn't linger for some time after you chewed on the teeth.
