Hi i was wondering if anyone can give me any idea what is going to happen when i have a Peridontal treatment to my bottom front teeth

I have coped extremly well through having my extractions, but i have learnt, that i can do anything a the dentist as long as i am in total control.

So i am now researching this treatment so i can have some idea of what i am going to go through, any help would be very much appreciated,:-*

Do you have any details as to what type of treatment?

I've heard "scaling and root planing" referred to as a treatment and then it gets more involved from there.

They might just be referring to a scale and polish or if it's been a long time, maybe a deep clean (scaling and root planing)...

If anything more involved were on the agenda such as gum grafts - they'd have to discuss it with you first. They probably just mean a cleaning.
It can all be done painlessly (gentle technique or gels to numb e.g. oraquix or local anaesthetic)...so having found the right dentist there really is nothing for you to get too stressed about.
Once your gums are healthy again..you have to keep them that way by flossing daily and attending for regular hygiene appointments as appropriate (typically 6 monthly but could be more or less frequent)...these get quicker and quicker if your home maintenance is good.
NHS dentists always tended to skimp on dental hygiene - there is a world of difference between a 2 minute scrape and polish typically given during a short NHS check-up and the type of regular comfortable clean you can obtain from a hygienist
If you think about it we tend to live longer now and need to keep our teeth for life..hence why this extra maintenance is appropriate.

I know you will be fine :grouphug:.
