Hi all finally had my extractions, I am now 10 days post of having ALL teeth removed apart from front bottom 7, extraction included 2 impacted wisdom teeth, had it done under general (phewwwww) but am a bit concerned now.............
The op all in all took about 2 and a hlaf hours and from speaking to the surgeon after was not easy at all, I literally woke up with a mouth full of dissolvable stitches and in agony, the agony has continued for pain I started off on Tramadol and co-codamol with ibprofen, I also had a 7day course of Keflex antibiotics pre-op and then a 7 day course post op. My mouth I can only describe is on fire has been since the op, it has started to cool a little over the last couple of days but is still very painful. My original painkillers did nothing but give me serious constipation huhhhhhh dont know which was worst the tooth pain or that, so my GP put me on Oramorph, this has done the trick painwise and now more constipation.
I am concerned because I know Im only 10 days post op and may be jumping the gun a little but bothing seems to be getting significantly better in any way, I dont take my meds Im in agony cant eat only baby food lol cant sleep getting to the stage now where I am truly fed up.
I have immediate denture however the surgeon decided the op was such a nightmare it would be better to wait to heel before fitting them, he said witihin a week or so pop them in, I have tried and cant get them anywhere near in, in the top left hand side of my mouth where one of the impacted wisdom teeth were removed there is a stitch tied in a knot that stops them from going in as well as swelling, I am now worried that these dentures aren't going to fit at all.
Can someone give me some advice? What should I do? I dont want to be taking these extra strong pain killers too long but nothings getting better, I had thrush as a result oh the antibiotics thats on its way to clearing up now, I rinse with salted water 4 times a day and corsydil twice a day, none of my stitches have disolved just baggy and hanging loose.
Im getting to my wits end now and almost (notwuite but almost
) wish I hadn;t bothered having it done, the idea of oh a quick op then all over and done with certainly hasn't happened, I only 31 with a wife and 3 young children and no teeth the whole thing has turned into a trauma!!!
Any help and advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Chris
