Root Canal or Extraction is there any other options?

I have recently been told by my dentist that i have a small infection at the root of one of my molars. He told me that the only 2 options i have are root canal, or extraction. I can't afford Root Canal but am worried about the implications of Extraction apart from the pbvious missing tooth. can anyone help me?

I know i would choose root canal, and they can be expensive, i know, if i had the money i would have that. Do you have any one you can borrow money from, where abouts in the mouth is the tooth?
