Screenshot of CBCT Need An Opinion If Possible

Hi,

Attached is a side by side screenshot of two CBCT one with the teeth still in place taken mid July 2014 24 hours prior to extractions. I had zero tooth ache and gums health looking no gum boils.

The one post extractions CBCT was taken 10 days ago.

I am continuing to have the same symptoms, both in my sinus and extraction/canine tooth area up alongside my nose.

Can anyone offer an opinion? Any help or advice gratefully received.

WHile this forum is about dental fear and not general questions about dentistry I will say that your question isn't clear as you stated that you have the same symptoms as before. Okay what were those symptoms? Why was the diagnosis? How was that diagnosis made? What was your treatment plan? Why was a CBCT performed?

Hi,

I got in to this position through neglect of my teeth due to my dental phobia. And pretty scared of the suggested treatment suggestions! Hence looking for some help.

I would like to avoid posting my story as I wouldn't want to put any fellow phobic people of getting help, if you think you would like a read happy to PM it !!

Anyway symptoms are pain around my canine root top to the left and right of it extending up the side of my nose. and in to my lower cheek bone.

My lip both up and lower are numb as are the extraction site gum, my symptom get more extreme when I am not taking antibiotics. I am sure it is infection based as I have physical symptoms when I stop that come on very quickly, like extreme redness over my maxillary sinus area, and my left eye lid goes droopy and red, and my sinus symptoms increase dramatically.

3 Max Fax two in the early stages who diagnosed Atypical Facial Pain, one who thinks it is an infection with a source in one of my remaining upper teeth, and is suggesting I remove them all to at the very least remove them as a potential source. The second dentist also believes it is an infection and suggesst (on the second image) I have a root remnant left with infection and an infection behind my canine tooth. They are suggesting doing a apicoectomy on the canine and clean the bone and use bone graft material and then same on the adjacent extraction site. Those currently are my two choices. Or I suppose thirdly stop the antibiotics, and deal with it with my GP or A&E

Edit forgot to add, after I had the first diagnose of facial pain I went to an ENT and he did an endoscopy and said my sinuses were perfect except he could see grey green mucopus sitting in the inferior meatus on my left and red inflamed tissue, this is to the right of my canine tooth but inside my nose

Well I went ahead with it, only time will tell. I had the root cut off the Canine, back filled and debrideded. There was an infection behind the Canine as well. The extraction site from July was "a bit of mess" it was not a root canal but densely infected tissue.

The hardest 2.5 hours in the dentist chair ever, and not one I would want to repeat.

I believe all of this could have been avoided if the Original dentist had taken X-Ray prior to crowning five teeth, two of which had long term infections that even I (now I have learned a bit) can see on the original OPG taken in 2013 when I fist approached them to sort out my badly neglected teeth. Ultimately I would say it still falls back on me for the neglect due to phobia. One thing for sure I couldn't have done yesterday 12 months ago, so constant exposure to the phobia does help

Having been through this and hoping it cures the problem, I would even consider implants now, which I would never have even given any consideration to 12 months ago
