I was so scared when I went in. I've had a crown done before and it wasn't the most pleasant of things. I have a very strong gag reflex and struggle to control my breathing.
But I got through it using controlled breathing and telling myself that I was fine, doing well and that it would soon be over. My dentist kept checking in with me, constantly asking if I was OK (I'm guessing he could tell I was nervous as was very quiet when I walked in) and then said at one point 'You are doing amazing' which nearly made me cry. It was a lot of drilling and he even had to cut into the gum. He was really caring and gentle with me, even going out of his way to wipe all the sludge from around my mouth (from the impressions). I felt really looked after and also proud of myself.
I hope this helps someone !
