Hi I am fine thank you, been a bit busy lately with my mum. How you doin' I hope you are managing to stay clear of the hospital apart from the teeth.

Thank you yes, all is ok on the leg front the district nurses keep my line viable so should I have any problems they have instant access! Hope you have managed to see some brighter weather, being busy in nicer weather is better than in the gloom of a bad day xx
i managed to view the northern lights last Thursday with my little sister i was dropping off some shopping to her and noticed them so we shared a special moment.

Well I picked up my new teeth today, they are a bit different all round, the teeth are bigger so there is less of them and they are darker than my previous but still fit with my remaining ones, with my mouth at rest they are fine, the bite is totally different and I will wait and see how it goes after a few days, eating was a bit weird this evening but I still ate a full meal it's like new shoes they have to break in and my mouth has to get used to them, They have already bit my cheek and my finger....??????!!!!!! If they don't behave I will send them back!
I gave the dentist a card and a dozen cupcakes 6 vanilla with choc topping and 6 choc with vanilla topping with letters spelling Thank You in my native language, she was really chuffed and it cheered her up
I only have to go back if I need them trimming or have any problems, Sad not to go back to see them as back to my local dentist surgery in 3 months although this has been taken over, so it's still NHS but takes private too, or the other way round so guess I will see in time. Still very happy that I got dentures though, it was worth it if that was the only option and all in all it's been positive, will post again soon. Please feel free to ask me anything about my denture journey if I can help you in anyway I can and remember

I keep thinking of the new shoes and breaking them in theory for when I get mine .. in a little over a week now. Eeeeeek.

they seem to be going ok and I think this is just the way they are, already I am getting the hang of them
I think you have to just give them a chance and stay positive because that will be what gets you through give time for you to get used to them and for your mouth to change after the extractions I wouldn't go back to how it was even if it never stopped me from smiling it's still much better, I will hang around because I have yet to visit my old practice and get a check up in 3 months and I want to keep an eye on you and follow your story xx

I am glad you have your new teeth, I missed reading this somehow. I have an excuse though I am full of the worst cold I have had in years. It is getting worse not better day by day.

I am sad for you that you won't see the lovely dentists that did your teeth for you as I know you really like them. Hopefully your usual dentist practice will have a dentist just as nice for you to see.

Well slowly getting used to the new gnashers . I have a couple of little rubbing sites but not sure if this is just a bit of movement as I am getting used to eating with them or if it's just the clips catching, so I have given it the benefit of the doubt, they certainly do not chew as good as the others I feel I am chewing on 2 small points rather than a wider plain I may just ask the dentist about this as I do not want to put stress on any place it shouldn't be, so actually quite a straight forward change to my more permanents I had the temp. immediates for nearly a year so any change is going to be strange and your mouth feels any small difference like it's something huge. But it's the same for any prosthetic whether it be teeth or limb it all takes a bit of getting used to and a few re fits a few blisters until it all becomes the best it will be.
This has not been the easiest and also not the hardest journey I have taken and it was certainly well worth it.
still a bit scared of some treatments and still nervous about meeting a new dental team in 3 months but I now know what can be done to help and I am sure I could go get referred back to the lovely ladies who specialise in nervous patients if I can't manage my treatments,
working hard at looking after my remaining teeth and they are a little sensitive so I guess I will have to be numbed for the cleaning of them but as long as they use the numbing gel I will be fine. I know now I can get into the dentists and into the chair and knowing everything is possible pain free makes attending so much easier.

Well I have had these teeth for a few weeks now and I am so glad I held out on the bits that didn't feel right we are the best of friends now and they have stopped biting me when they shouldn't
Today I was rather surprised to get a call with a familiar voice, my lovely dentist
They have been approached by a local reporter doing a bit on how the surgery works with patients with different needs from the nervous to the disabled and the elderly and anything in between and they have asked if I would like to be interviewed as a success story seeing as I went from " don't come near me " to " yeah fine, whatever!"
I think it's for the radio but I will still make myself look good just in case. . . . .
I think they want me cause I don't shut up!! that poor reporter will end up with endless hours of editing through the silly drizzle I usually come out with at the dentist!!!!!! I may have to read through my story on here to refresh my memory on dates etc as long as it helps more people go and get treatment or know the treatment/ service is available.
it will probably be broadcast about 3 am on a Sunday morning for about 2 mins but it's nice to be asked

Well I done my bit for the interview and was paid in coffee There was myself and another gentleman who lives with Parkinson's disease and he has IV sedation and me who has had a sample of the inhalation sedation, was a bit of a reply to a politicians question on the service so it was being brought to light what was offered and to whom, we were more nervous about speaking into a microphone 4 inches from you face ( interviews are cosy!!!!) think I would have rathered had a dental appointment!, I did ask the dentist could we be interviewed under 'happy air" sedation but we thought better off it!!!
We ( the patients didn't really say much and were more there so it wasn't just all professional talk) would of preferred to be asked questions rather than ad lib but it may sound ok and I got to chat with my favourite dentist one last time before I go back to my local. It's nice to be asked to do this sort of thing though, if it helps people realise what is on offer and helps them get the treatment they need.
ok folks that's all for now had a hard week to deal with this week and got to work all weekend and into next week too so speak again soon, keep smiling xx

Thought it would be a bit more Q&A style, I thought there was a lot more that could have been said even though a lot was covered but I am not very good with being asked questions doesn't even matter what subject it's on I never get enough important info across and I suddenly dry up. Very rabbit in the headlights it's the same as being asked questions when I do my food hygiene certificate or my language course get me in a situation like that and if you asked me my name I would forget in the panic ha ha, yeah I would have rathered sat for treatment a written interview would have been better.
but as a pick me up I was walking through the hospital on way to treat staff from various wards I had been on with Chocolates and a Charming young dr who had met me while I was in last summers came along from the opposite direction I said hello not knowing if he would remember me and he said Hello how are you Miss 'Slim'!!! What a boost to my ego, I floated home and made sure hubby heard all about it!!!

You will have to go to the hospital more often I think, it certainly is a good boost for your ego. I bet there were a few people pleased to see you if you were giving goodies not to take away the fact that they were pleased to see you
