Anyone missing upper 2nd molar and operating with just a 1st molar ? How is it? Surgeon saying I should implant it but I’m hesitant and have read 1st molar is main chewing. Just looking for those that have experience. Thanks

Hi! Not your exact situation, but I've been missing both upper 1st molars for years and it's been fine, I've had no trouble chewing without them.

I finally have money to do something about it and would like to replace the one on the left, at least, since there's no wisdom tooth on that side and I worry the one remaining molar might be having to work too hard to compensate. On the right the teeth had sadly migrated too much for an implant to be feasible without orthodontics, and I'm not willing to go into that. But my dentist says it wouldn't be too bad to leave it as it is, especially as I still have both 2nd and 3rd molars there.
