Hi there im a newbie on this site and really need some advice

Ive always had trouble which with my teeth from haveing 3 different braces over the period of 5 years and alot of teeth removed due to overcrowding.
then when my teeth were lovely and straight some witch knocked the top two front ones and which got inbedded in my lip and ended up having 12 stiches and two caps or something it wasnt exactly explained properly
i

but as u can imagine the dentist is not my favorite place no offence.
the dentist I see doesnt explain things properly and I dont understand what hes goin on about .

The problem im having now is i have some kind gum diesese im not even sure how bad but ive now lost me bottom two front teeth and im only 22

my dentist is not being very forthcoming with what i should do he just told me its aggresive / chronic and its one of the worst cases and that its aggresive / chronic he has seen in somebody so young this answer does not help me

i found out i got to see a periodontist?

can somebody give me some answers? I understand it my gums that are the problem but what kind of choices do i have to fix this
and I dont really want a partial removable denture for the missing teeth whatother choices do i have as apparently have three other wobbly ones (but i cant really tell)at the front by the now horrendous gap at the front so im not sure if a bridge is suitable
im really freaked out any advice

p.s my parents both have problems similer to mine is it heireditary?
can this be fixed for my forseeable future :(

You could have what's called Juvenile Periodontitis, a severe form of gum disease that has quite an early and aggressive onset. Sometimes a combination of antibiotics and gum therapy (cleaning, debridement, home care, etc) can help. The periodontist would be the best person to visit in this sort of situation, and they should be able to guide you as to what the best treatment would be and what your options are.

I'm not a dentist, but sometimes the Juvenile gum disease ZZZZ dentist described is associated with autoimmune diseases and these can most definitely be hereditary. Pop by for a doctors appointment and maybe get some blood tests to be sure everything is ok there.

hey [smiley=welcome.gif]
not to scare you either but greenwood is right about getting a check up my daughter is 8 and has diabetes type 1 and i know the dentist will keep an eye on her for juvenile gum disease as she grows up because of her diabetes.
im not saying it is anything other than what zzzz dentist said but just to be sure
if you dont feel yr dentist explains things very well though try another one yr in charge having a dentist you trust is the most important thing of all trust yr instincts maybe even just get a 2nd opinion to put yr mind at rest remember yr 22 and you need to get this sorted for you and no one else you deserve the best care !!!
love emma
