I will be able to see my dentist today at 12:20. However I was told the dentist that usually seems me isn't at the practice anymore,

Alas this happens a lot in the NHS. Try to get yourself on the patient list of the practice owner - they almost never disappear whereas with an associate it is always only ever a matter of time. Good luck getting sorted out.

Curious question but why do they tend to switch around so much with the NHS?

Just got back from seeing the dentist. I really don't like the new one, she's a nice woman but I can't understand what she says very good, I wish I could afford private treatment.

She took an xray and there is a small infection on the tooth and there is slight swelling. She said it wasn't bad and she could have done a root canal but I said I didn't want one done then and there.

She said the swelling wasn't bad enough to prescribe antibiotics. The filling is 100% in tact and not chipped/damaged.

She said as I didn't want one done right away, I should do salt water rinses to get the swelling down and see her again in 6 months for my checkup and then go from there.

If it does abcess or if the pain gets unbearable I guess I'll have to go back sooner. I've noticed that sicne having this swelling, I have had somewhat of a bad breathe, hopefully this will also go with a few days of salt water rinses.

I could have an extraction which I would have no issue with, but there'd be a huge gap in the front of my tooth. Wouldn't I be able to get a false tooth? Don't know the technical term for them; can you get them as an NHS patient? If not any idea how much prices usually start at?

I also forgot to mention the pain behind my eye when I move it to the side, not sure if it is related to the tooth but there's always something I forget to say!

Cheers
