hello readers,

i went to my primary doctor today and was given Clindamycin for infection, naproxen for pain/swelling, and some anxiety meds, which i hope will help.

if you have read my other posts, i have an odontoma, have had it for 10 years, and am now finally gathering the courage to do something to get it removed. i am BEYOND nervous, as this is my first major surgery. i have my first dentist appointment in 10 years on January 17th, and it is just a new patient/x-rays. i am nervous my condition will worsen from now til the 17th, to the point where i will be untreatable. any words of relief??

i should also mention, no other appointments for a maxillofacial surgeon have been officially scheduled, i have just been in contact with one regarding my case.

Hi, not knowing how bad the infection and swelling is, it's hard for anyone on an internet forum to comment. But seeing how your primary doctor (who presumably saw you in person) didn't think you were in any danger, it sounds unlikely that your condition will suddenly worsen to the point where you will be untreatable? Having said that, you're the best judge of your own body, and if you feel it's a genuine emergency, then absolutely ask the dentist if they can see you asap.
