Well Folks, its been an eventful day today
I've just been to see my new Dentist, having summarily fired my old one as the whole set up was too clinical; cash-orientated and rushed with little consistency. From the minute I met and shook hands with this new chap, I got the distinct feeling that he is going to be a keeper.
He took time to address my concerns; listened to what I had to say, stopped and explained/discussed each part of the process; even the chair is the most comfy piece of furniture I have ever experienced
(I cannot believe I would EVER say that about a dentist chair
but it's better than my sofa at home
).
So we have set up an appointment for him to remove a couple of old amalgam fillings and replace them with new composite ones to try him out and as he said "If we are still friends afterwards" then I will be looking at getting an Implant (if suitable) towards the back end of the year. I feel very much like it is a partnership rather than being on the receiving end of whatever is dictated, does that make sense? It works for me.
Getting rid of my old practice was a bit of a leap into the unknown but To Be Honest; I feel that the new chap is a great step forward; he is patient, listens, empathetic and he assures me that he is humane in how he carries out treatment so I will be reporting back on progress when I go back in a couple of weeks time. If he lives up to my expectations, I will post a recommendation then.
