So, here's the story.
I'm a 25 year old who has never had any dental issues other than these stupid cysts.
I have a surgery scheduled to have a Botryoid cyst removed, which is stemming from my left front tooth but encompassing my right front, left fang, and the one to the left of that. We know it is a botryoid cyst because I had another one removed from the front of my left front tooth 5 years ago, and this appears to be a re-growth that headed towards the roof of my mouth rather than the front like last time. Anyway here are my questions
1. What amount of pain can I expect following the surgery? They are entering through the roof of my mouth, and while removing the cyst clipping the roots of the 4 teeth noted above.
2. What is recovery time before talking and eating will be normal?
I am going under general anesthesia, because when I had the 4 teeth root canaled I was so terrified I was shaking and crying even after 2 mg of xanax and it took 20 min of gas to get me to calm down, so staying Awake is not an option at all.
The cyst is roughly 13mm wide and I'm not sure what that means as far as how many stitches I may end up with, or how much it will effect my daily life after the surgery until healed.
I have complete faith in my surgeon and his team to keep me healthy and safe while being sedated, and his skill to get the job done, as last time I went out and woke up what felt like 5 min later with the cyst gone and 4 stitches in, but I am petrified of how I can expect recovery to be after this one as this cyst is 5x as large as my last one.
Any experience or advice would be appreciated greatly!
Also if you have ever undergone this procedure has it stopped the cyst from coming back?
My surgeon also said it is still possible even with all this we may not be able to save my left front tooth, so any experience on that front as well would be amazing!
