Can I get an arch widening appliance after cosmetic dental bonding?

My front four teeth - two front and both on sides beside the two fronts - will be receiving some cosmetic dental bonding in a few weeks, to enlarge the size appearance of my teeth. (My teeth are kindof small). The bonding will also help fill in some of the small gaps between them.

However, I have been looking into orthodontics appliances to widen my arches. I'd like a wider smile from the incisors and to the back.

Would I still be able to wear an arch widening orthodontic appliance if I have this bonding done?

A general dentist can apply the appliance -- not just an orthodontist, so I figured I would ask here. I would call them but it's like 130am and I'm asking you guys... lol

I wouldn't do any cosmetic work until the teeth are in the place you expect them to stay in. My son had a very "V" shaped palate and wore a widening bar when he was young, every day I opened it a half key turn......until he was ripe for braces. It attached to the molars.

You could get your arches widened after the bonding procedure, but it might mean that small gaps appear between the teeth that you've just had bonded! Clearly not ideal. When treatment planning, it is usual to do all orthodontic treatment first, then restorative treatment (bonding, crowns, bridges, implants) afterwards.

It's vital to discuss your expectations with your dentist, before your appointment if possible. Dental treatment is always better when carefully planned than when delivered piecemeal! I don't know whether you've got information on arch widening through your dentist or from elsewhere, but if it's the latter then you ought to get their professional opinion and see what system they use to see what's right for you.
