Hi I am booked in for a check up on Friday and am really struggling with nerves. It’s not necessarily the check up procedure causing my nerves it’s the unknown of what work will need doing and how much. I am a people pleaser and if work needs doing I feel embarrassed and like I have let them down. I take care of my teeth, possibly over brush but know I also probably have more sugar than I should due to bingeing. I also have some dark spots / think I may have chipped a filling months ago but had no pain or issues. If anyone has any tips or words of reassurance to calm my nerves I’d love to hear them

Hi. I’m glad you scheduled an appointment.

While I don’t have any advice, I do send encouragement.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes Friday.

@Hartington99 Hi! I do have a tips for worrying about hearing about work needing to be done that work for me, I tell myself I don't have to commit to doing any work on the spot, I can go home and think it over. I also tell myself it will be better to know than to have to live in uncertainty. I am sure no one will feel like you let them down if you need work done, there must be people going to the dentist every day who need lots of work done on their teeth. Good luck!

That’s true thank you, I have been wondering since my last check up in 2020 what could possibly be wrong and hopefully now I can get back into the swing of things and won’t leave it so long that it becomes such a worry d

Feeling very nervous this morning , 3 hours to go. Can’t wait for it to not be in the back of my mind worrying about it
