I got cosmetic bonding done on 8 front teeth when I was 18! I should have declined it but I trusted the dentist. It looked horrible and thick and you can see it was uneven and unnatural. Gums swoll up immediately and I could sense my teeth were becoming thin rapidly. However I got deap cleaning done and the bleeding gums stopped. However 20 years later I still have tenderness and soreness (but if I keep myself busy I forget). Now the real problem is there are black spot under the bonding. Are they cavities? Moreover due to a stressful period of life I have been grinding my teeth and a part of the bonding came off and I can see my real teeth. I've read online that you can return to your natural teeth with bonding. I was happy that I didn't have to manually remove the boding and the time has come where it is coming off. BUT MY GUM IS SWOLLEN! why would only the gum for THAT TOOTH BE SWOLLEN.

help me! I do have an appointment with the dentist but after ther torture my dentist put me through I need a second opinion. I truly believe I would have been better off if I didn't get it in the first place. I wanted to have it removed but was scared about the repurcussions as well. It has been 20 years of not smiling for pics and hiding my teeth. I just wanted them to be healthy but now they neither look good and I'm scared to death about their health. Help me!

Teeth have become 1/3 of their thickness as my teeth keep getting thinner day by day after the bonding. Help me! I wish I never even got this done!

What do I do to keep my teeth healthy without any unecessary treatments!

I'm sorry, I can't answer this over the internet. Go and see your dentist and take it from there.

How do I find a good dentist? I did go for a dental checkup but they were treating the bonding as veneers and calling them as veneers. I am sick of not finding the help I need !! They said all looks good but I am here with a stinging pain and gum swelling at the point where the bonding used to be there. How do I find a dentist who can help me ?! And I don’t want to be pushed into some other treatments that I don’t need !! Just a cosmetic issue is now a health issue !!

I am looking online but not sure where and who to trust !!
