I have terrible anxiety and dental fear. I visit the dentist on a regular basis but each visit is very stressful for me. I am now very stressed as I was told yesterday that a crown on my front tooth has a cavity at the margin. I was told I need a new crown. I was at the dentist for a cleaning 4 months ago and nothing seemed wrong then. I was told they need prior authorization as needed as insurance might not approve the crown replacement. This seems odd if there is a cavity. My stress is from worry that they will remove the crown and the tooth can't be saved and I will walk out without a front tooth. The dentist didn't seem concerned and only mentioned I needed a new crown. Am I over stressing for nothing. I only imagine myself leaving without a tooth. The dentist took X-rays to send to insurance and used a handheld camera to look at the tooth.
